Job Title: Senior Tax Specialist - Direct Tax

Description:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to manage our direct tax compliance, advisory, litigation, and planning activities.
  • This role requires expertise in Indian Income Tax Act, TDS provisions, and related regulations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Direct Tax Compliance:
  2. Ensure timely and accurate filing of corporate income tax returns.
  3. Handle advance tax computations, tax provisioning, and TDS/TCS compliance.
  4. Ensure adherence to all direct tax regulations and timelines.
  1. Tax Planning & Advisory:
  2. Provide strategic tax planning advice to optimize tax liabilities within legal frameworks.
  3. Analyze and interpret complex tax laws to provide practical solutions.
  4. Advise management on the tax implications of new business initiatives.
  1. Assessment & Litigation:
  2. Represent us before tax authorities for assessments, appeals, and audits.
  3. Prepare responses to notices and handle tax scrutiny assessments.
  4. Coordinate with external consultants and legal counsel for high-stakes tax litigation.
  1. Audit & Reporting:
  2. Assist in statutory and tax audits; coordinate with auditors and resolve queries.
  3. Prepare tax-related schedules and disclosures for financial statements.
  4. Monitor changes in tax laws and evaluate their impact on our organization.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant with minimum 2 years of relevant experience in direct taxation.
  • Strong understanding of Indian Income Tax Act, TDS provisions, and related regulations.
  • Experience in handling tax assessments, audits, and litigation.
  • Proficiency in tax computation software, MS Excel, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a top-tier consulting firm or large corporate tax department.
  • Exposure to international taxation and transfer pricing regulations.
