Job Description:

  • Our organization seeks a skilled Power BI Administrator to oversee the management and optimization of our Power BI environment. This individual will be responsible for administering and managing the Power BI service, ensuring its optimal performance, availability, and security within the organization.
  • The successful candidate will design, implement, and maintain the Power BI security model, including row-level security (RLS), object-level security (OLS), and user/group permissions to ensure data governance and compliance.
  • This role involves overseeing the deployment, management, and organization of Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets within the Power BI service.
  • The administrator will configure and manage Power BI gateways to ensure secure and efficient data connectivity to on-premises data sources.
  • In addition, this individual will monitor Power BI environment performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies for reports, dashboards, and data refresh processes.
  • Expert-level troubleshooting and technical support will be provided for Power BI users and issues related to data connectivity, report rendering, and performance.
  • The Power BI Administrator will establish and enforce best practices for Power BI development, deployment, and usage, contributing to data governance initiatives.
  • This role also involves assisting in planning Power BI capacity and scaling the environment to meet growing business demands.
  • Utilization of SQL for data preparation, querying, and integration with Power BI datasets is required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Power BI and visualization concepts.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop.
  • Expertise in Power BI security model implementation and management.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Ability to manage and administer the Power BI service effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for data and platform issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with users and stakeholders.
