Portfolio Director Position

This role involves leading cross-functional teams to execute large-scale projects on time, within budget, and to scope. Key responsibilities include managing strategic portfolios with multi-year roadmaps, stakeholder engagement, and financial oversight.

Some of the key tasks involve overseeing program lifecycle planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, risk tracking, and stakeholder communication. The ideal candidate should be able to plan and manage portfolio-level AOP/budget, lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.

The Portfolio Director will also serve as a key liaison between operating units and global teams. They must be able to present analysis and updates to senior leadership. Additionally, they will drive process standardization, continuous improvement, and deployment.

Effective communication is crucial in this role. The Portfolio Director must be able to communicate with stakeholders to ensure end products or processes solve business problems. This includes recommending new policies and procedures that affect program management and modifying program management processes to improve programs.

As part of this role, you will design and develop interactive dashboards using Power BI for tracking program performance, milestones, and KPIs. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to gather requirements, visualize data insights, and drive data-informed decisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A Master's/Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline with software experience.
  • 18+ years of overall IT experience with 10+ years of project management relevant experience in Medical Device.
  • Hands-on experience in architecting complex dashboards using Power BI/other tools.
  • Certifications: PMP/equivalent, CSM, SAFe/RTE, or handling ART experience.
  • Good to have Lean/Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and ProChain scheduling methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Med tech product/software/R&D, product development, and clinical/regulatory processes.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to influence all customers.
  • Independent thinker with commercial and operational views of complex situations.
