Concept Artist Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create quick and detailed drawings and paintings of environments, characters, buildings, vehicles, and props.
  • Liaise with producers, art directors, and game developers to discuss project briefs.
  • Conduct research on concept subjects, styles, and genres.
  • Respond positively and proactively to feedback.
  • Develop concepts and designs throughout the production process.
  • Utilize traditional and technological approaches to create 2D and 3D designs through drawing and painting.
  • Pitch ideas clearly to clients and design teams.
  • Adapt and refine work based on feedback.
  • Maintain effective communication.
  • Confidently use creative programs and technologies, such as Photoshop, Painter, SketchUp, and Illustrator.
  • Meet strict deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Preferred degree in fine art.
  • Mandatory knowledge of Photoshop.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with a bold and inspirational attitude.
  • Positive attitude and drive to succeed.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Avid gamer and mobile app enthusiast.
  • Portfolio showcasing interesting, stylized characters and environments.
  • Strong foundation in traditional arts, including color theory, figure drawing, traditional animation, illustration, background layout, and/or painting.
