Cancer Medication Access Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented specialist to manage electronic prior authorisations for oncology-related prescriptions. This role involves working closely with prescribers, pharmacies, and payers to streamline access to critical cancer treatments and reduce delays in patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage ePAs through CoverMyMeds, focusing on oncology medications.
  • Review clinical documentation and ensure accuracy and completeness for payer submission.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and specialty pharmacies to resolve prior authorisation issues.
  • Track and monitor prior authorisation requests, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Provide education and support to prescriber offices on CoverMyMeds processes and payer requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date on cancer drug access pathways, insurance policies, and payer-specific rules.
  • Document case activities accurately in CRM or patient management systems.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to support patient access initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (healthcare, pharmacy, life sciences, etc.).
  • 2+ years of experience using CoverMyMeds, specifically in prior authorisation processing.
  • Strong background in oncology medication access, reimbursement, or patient services.
  • Familiarity with specialty pharmacy operations and payer requirements.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with oncology patient support programs.
  • Knowledge of the insurance verification, appeals, and reimbursement landscape.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
