About the Role

Our organization is seeking an accomplished Engineering Manager to spearhead the technical strategy, architecture, and delivery of our cybersecurity platform.

This is a leadership role that requires hands-on involvement: you will be responsible for building and scaling a high-performing team, owning end-to-end engineering execution, and laying the groundwork for our product and culture.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute the engineering roadmap in alignment with our business objectives
  2. Establish and grow a lean engineering team, hiring and mentoring talented professionals
  3. Drive the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable software products
  4. Implement best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, observability, and architecture
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical execution
  6. Make key decisions on architecture, tools, and platform design
  7. Set and track engineering KPIs for velocity, quality, and reliability
  8. Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards
  9. Stay ahead of emerging technologies and bring in innovative solutions at the right time
Success in the First 12 Months

Key milestones within the first year include:

  1. Building and scaling an initial engineering team of 5–7 engineers
  2. Delivering the MVP release of our flagship product and setting the roadmap for enterprise readiness
  3. Establishing secure, automated CI/CD pipelines and monitoring baselines
  4. Defining and documenting engineering best practices and architecture standards
  5. Demonstrating measurable improvements in team velocity and product quality
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  1. A minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience
  2. At least 4+ years of hands-on development experience
  3. At least 2–3 years of experience in engineering management (team building, delivery)
  4. Proven ability to hire, mentor, and grow engineering talent
  5. Experience delivering SaaS products (cybersecurity, cloud, or compliance preferred)
  6. Strong foundation in system architecture, microservices, and cloud-native design
  7. Proficiency in PostgreSQL, Redis, and scalable data modeling
  8. Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL
  9. Familiarity with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) or similar cloud environments
  10. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
  11. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
Nice to Have

While not essential, the following skills would be beneficial:

  1. Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms
  2. Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis Streams)
  3. Experience with monitoring & logging tools (Prometheus, ELK, CloudWatch)
  4. Exposure to compliance-driven environments (SOC 2, ISO 27001)
  5. Understanding of security best practices for SaaS products
