Job Title:
Application Operations Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Application Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our trading platforms. This includes monitoring and maintaining system performance, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and system improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Monitor and maintain system performance, ensuring high availability and responsiveness.
  2. Troubleshoot technical issues, working closely with development teams to resolve problems efficiently.
  3. Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and infrastructure teams to design, deploy, and enhance systems.
  4. Implement upgrades, patches, and new functionalities while minimizing impact on users.
  5. Maintain and update technical documentation for processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.

Requirements
  • Strong IT background with expertise in Linux, Bash scripting, and database troubleshooting (SQL/Oracle).
  • Java troubleshooting and familiarity with Python scripting.
  • Experience with Jenkins/Ansible automation.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of network protocols.

Competencies
  • System administration – Strong knowledge on Linux/Unix systems with ability to tune operating systems for optimum performance.
  • Scripting (Python, PERL, Shell, SQL....) and development skills for administration, monitoring and support tools.
  • Databases – exposure to or skills in SQL Server and Oracle.
  • ECN connectivity.
  • Good network and firewall infrastructure understanding.
  • Ability to analyze network captures.
