Job Title: Perfusion Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced perfusion specialist to join our team.

Job Description:

The perfusion specialist will be responsible for the safe management of physiologic functions by monitoring necessary variables during extracorporeal circulation. This includes conducting cardio pulmonary bypass (CPB) for adult cardiac surgeries independently, initiating intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) independently, and closely monitoring the heart-lung machine to ensure it functions according to specifications.

  • To Conduct Cardio Pulmonary Bypass(CPB) for all Adult Cardiac Surgeries Independently
  • To Initiate IABP independently
  • Closely monitor with the team and understand the heart-lung machine to ensure that machine and associated equipment function according to specifications.
  • To conduct Neonatal and Pediatric CPB under supervision of Senior Perfusionist
  • Cleans and adjusts parts of heart-lung machine.
  • Circuit Assembly and Priming
  • To engage all safety systems in the Heart Lung Machine
  • To assemble and Prime ECMO machine and circuits.
  • To Manager ECMO cases under supervision of senior Perfusionist
  • To manage CPB and ECMO disposable inventory.
  • To document all CPB and ECMO data
  • To maintain the adequacy of Perfusion ensure appropriate Blood gas and Hematocrit levels during CPB.
  • To ensure proper disposal of CPB circuit and Oxygenators after the case completion

Requirements:

Required skills and qualifications include the ability to work accurately with minimal supervision, knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, basic physics, biochemistry, and fluid balance, as well as working knowledge of the heart-lung machine and other associated equipment used in cardiac surgery.
