Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Purchase Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring engineering goods, raw materials, and MRO items for manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge of engineering components, technical specifications, and industrial products. They will also possess strong sourcing, analytical, and negotiation skills, as well as familiarity with manufacturing procurement processes and ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure raw materials, capital goods, engineering spares, and MRO items
  • Liaise with technical teams to understand material specifications and requirements
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities and conduct technical-commercial negotiations
  • Floating inquiries, preparing comparative statements, and finalizing purchase orders
  • Ensuring delivery timelines align with production schedules
  • Maintaining vendor database, rate contracts, and performance records
  • Coordinating with stores, QA/QC, and accounts for GRN, inspection, and payments
  • Handling procurement documentation and maintaining ERP data accuracy
  • Developing alternate vendor sources to reduce cost and dependency
  • Ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards

Required Skillsets:

  • Sound knowledge of engineering components, technical specifications, and industrial products
  • Strong sourcing, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with manufacturing procurement processes and ERP systems
  • Good understanding of vendor capability assessment and techno-commercial evaluation
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP, and procurement tools
  • Ability to work in coordination with maintenance and production teams
  • Awareness of industry standards and quality
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or MBA in Operations
  • 2-5 years of experience in technical procurement in the petrochemical, plastics, or rubber industry
