Cloud Engineer Role

The impact of this role is multifaceted, emphasizing the implementation, management, and support of cloud deployments, systems, and services to ensure high levels of availability, redundancy, and business continuity.

A successful candidate will possess a strong sense of technical knowledge, a customer-first attitude, and leadership skills, including mentoring team members and ownership.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Acting as a trusted security advisor in assigned verticals
  • Building, deploying, and managing virtual machines, PaaS services, and automation in Azure
  • Leading and acting as an SME for Azure platforms within the IT operations team
  • Creating deployment guides, Standard Operating Procedures, and performing knowledge transfers

Requirements:

  • A degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience
  • Post-secondary education obtained from a community college or one or more professional designations
  • Up to 7 years of experience in Server and Cloud Administration
  • Microsoft Azure Certification (AZ100 or AZ300 preferred)

This role also involves resolving support tickets, designing, writing, and delivering scripts, participating in process improvement discussions, identifying bottlenecks/challenges, and providing technical insight. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps, automation, and cloud computing with a focus on Azure infrastructure.
