Liberal Arts Academic Director

We are seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Academic Director of the School of Liberal Arts at K.R. Mangalam University.
Job DescriptionThe Academic Director will provide strategic direction and academic oversight for the school, ensuring alignment with the institution's mission, goals, and values. This includes:
- Developing and implementing a vision and strategic plan for the School of Liberal Arts;
- Promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative academic programs;
- Ensuring the school's alignment with institutional goals and priorities;
The Academic Director will also be responsible for overseeing academic programs, managing faculty recruitment, retention, development, and evaluation processes, and fostering a supportive environment for student learning, development, and success.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipThe Academic Director will lead the school in achieving its academic objectives, including:
- Developing and implementing a strategic plan that aligns with the institution's goals and priorities;
- Promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative academic programs;
- Ensuring the school's alignment with institutional goals and priorities;
The Academic Director will oversee academic programs, manage faculty recruitment, retention, development, and evaluation processes, and ensure the effective allocation of resources, including budgets, facilities, and staff.
Student SuccessThe Academic Director will foster a supportive environment for student learning, development, and success, including:
- Fostering a culture of academic excellence;
- Collaborating with other departments to enhance student engagement and retention;
- Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the school's operations;
The Academic Director will encourage and support faculty research, scholarship, and creative endeavors, including:
- Seeking funding opportunities and partnerships to advance research initiatives;
- Promoting faculty research, scholarship, and creative activities;
The Academic Director will build partnerships with external stakeholders, including alumni, industry leaders, and donors, and lead fundraising efforts to secure resources for strategic priorities.
Governance and ComplianceThe Academic Director will participate in institutional governance and policy development, ensuring compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, the Academic Director should possess:
- A terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in a relevant field within the liberal arts;
- Significant academic leadership experience (e.g., as a department chair, associate dean, or equivalent);
- 10+ years of academic experience;
- A distinguished record of teaching, scholarship, and service;
- Experience with strategic planning, budgeting, and personnel management;
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities;
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion;
- Ability to foster innovation and adapt to evolving educational landscapes;
Rupees 1,500,000 - Rupees 2,000,000 per annum.
