Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle database environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software and related tools.
  • Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including patching, backups, and updates. Ensure database availability, performance, and security through proactive monitoring and management.
  • Analyze and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database performance to improve response times.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues
  • Configure and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for system health and performance monitoring.
  • Implement and manage robust backup and recovery strategies using RMAN.
  • Test disaster recovery procedures to ensure minimal downtime during incidents.
  • Troubleshoot backup and recovery failures to protect data integrity.
  • Implement and enforce database security policies, including user roles, privileges, and encryption.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
  • Manage database patching and updates to address security vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor database storage and plan for capacity growth.
  • Perform data migrations, cloning, and transformations as required.
  • Manage partitioning, data compression, and archiving strategies to optimize storage utilization.
  • Provide technical support for database issues, including on-call support for critical incidents.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database connectivity, configuration, and access issues.
  • Collaborate with application teams to address issues affecting database performance.
  • Configure and manage Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) for high availability.
  • Implement and maintain Data Guard for disaster recovery and data replication.
  • Support other high-availability solutions, such as Oracle ASM and Grid Infrastructure.
  • Automate routine database tasks using scripting languages like Shell, Python, or PL/SQL.
  • Develop scripts for monitoring, alerting, and system diagnostics.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaborate with application developers and other IT teams to support database-dependent projects.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior DBAs and support staff.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Oracle Database versions 11g, 12c, 19c, and later.
  • Strong experience with PL/SQL, SQL tuning, and database optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like RMAN, OEM, and Data Pump. Knowledge of database internals, storage, and networking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
