Job Title: Tax Consultant

Practice Area:

  • Direct Tax

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Advisory and Deal Structuring: Collaborate with clients to conceptualize tax-efficient deals, providing expert advice on international tax laws, domestic regulations, double taxation avoidance agreements, stamp duty, and other related legislation.
  • Deal Document Review and Drafting: Conduct thorough reviews of deal documents, including term sheets, loan agreements, share purchase agreements, disclosures, business transfer agreements, merger schemes, representations, and warranties.
  • Client Handholding and Strategic Planning: Work closely with clients to develop a comprehensive understanding of their India entry/exit strategy, favorable holding jurisdiction, tax optimization, and commercial viability.
  • International Tax Advisory: Provide specialized services on international tax matters, encompassing permanent establishment, profit attribution, business connection, expatriate tax, employee stock option plans, indirect transfer, private equity, capital repatriation, royalties, foreign tax credits, broadcasting rights, and tax-transparent entities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or Commerce
  • 0-3 years of experience in direct tax advisory
  • In-depth knowledge of direct tax laws, FEMA, DTAA, and related regulations
