Senior Data Architect Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Data Architect to spearhead our data architecture initiatives and drive innovation.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and integrate leading-edge Big Data tools and frameworks to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines implementing ETL processes, ensuring optimal performance and advising infrastructure enhancements as needed.
  • Translate complex technical and functional requirements into detailed designs that meet business needs.
  • Analyze and investigate alternative solutions for data storage and processing to ensure streamlined approaches.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff through technical training sessions and review of project outputs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A strong understanding of data warehousing and data modeling techniques is essential.
  • Proficiency in distributed computing principles, including Hadoop v2, MapReduce, and HDFS, is required.
  • Strong data engineering skills on GCP cloud platforms, including Airflow, Cloud Composer, Data Fusion, Data Flow, Data Proc, and Big Query, are necessary.
  • Experience with building stream-processing systems using solutions like Storm or Spark-Streaming is desired.
  • Good knowledge of Big Data querying tools, such as Pig, Hive, and Impala, is beneficial.
  • Experience with Spark, SQL, and Linux is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of various ETL techniques and frameworks, including Flume, Apache NiFi, or DBT, is advantageous.
  • Experience with messaging systems, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, is preferred.
  • A good understanding of Lambda Architecture, its advantages, and drawbacks is essential.
