Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

 

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in sheet metal fabrication to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks (3D modeling), with the ability to translate concepts into accurate development and assembly drawings for stainless steel kitchen and refrigeration equipment.

 

The role involves preparing detailed 2D drawings in AutoCAD and 3D models in SolidWorks for sheet metal components and assemblies, developing fabrication drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and technical documentation for production, working closely with the production team to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective, assisting in the development of new products and customization of existing designs as per client requirements, performing sheet metal development including flat patterns, bending allowances, tolerances, and welding considerations, ensuring all drawings and designs adhere to quality standards, safety norms, and international specifications, coordinating with cross-functional teams (production, purchase, service) for design feasibility and project execution, supporting design modifications, revisions, and documentation control, conducting basic design validations through prototyping, fitment trials, and feedback from the shop floor, and maintaining proper documentation of design files, revisions, and records for future reference.

 

The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication processes (laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, finishing), proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and SolidWorks (3D modeling, assemblies, rendering), ability to prepare development drawings, exploded views, and assembly drawings, understanding of tolerances, GD&T, welding symbols, and material specifications (SS 304/316 etc.), good visualization and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, accuracy, and technical documentation, and effective communication skills.

 

Educational Qualifications:

 

  • Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (preferred specialization: Sheet Metal / Design)

 

Experience:

 

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in sheet metal design and fabrication industry
  • Experience in commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration equipment, or similar stainless steel fabrication industries will be an added advantage
