Mobile Technology Lead Position

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of software engineers and contribute to the development of cutting-edge mobile applications.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in technical leadership, with experience in managing remote teams and owning the systems behind mobile apps. They will be responsible for driving architectural solutions, writing production code, and owning operational excellence for their team's systems.

This is a chance to work on a wide range of features including mobile banking and payment solutions, and to partner closely with product managers to shape what gets built. The ideal candidate will have a strong self-learning drive, be actively using generative AI tools, and have experience working with React Native.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable writing production code, has excellent written and verbal communication skills, and can move from conversations with non-technical stakeholders to reframing projects into detailed design requirements for their engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive architectural solutions collaboratively with your team and engineering leadership.
  • Write production code regularly as a core contributor while maintaining oversight of your team's technical deliverables.
  • Own operational excellence for your team's systems including monitoring, incident response, and reliability improvements.
  • Champion modern development practices including active use of LLMs within your team and the adoption of technical practices at Zeller.
  • Lead a team of 3 software engineers, identifying skill gaps, managing personal development plans and fostering a positive culture of learning, ownership, and psychological safety.
  • Partner closely with product managers as joint owners of your product success, contributing technical and delivery insight to shape what gets built.

Requirements:

  • Experience in managing remote teams and owning the systems behind mobile apps.
  • Strong background in technical leadership, with experience in driving architectural solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to move from conversations with non-technical stakeholders to reframing projects into detailed design requirements.
  • Comfortable writing production code, with experience working with React Native.
  • Active user of generative AI tools, with strong self-learning drive.
  • Experience working in product-driven companies, with track record of driving pace and delivery.
