Job Title: Agricultural Risk Specialist
The position of Agricultural Risk Specialist is a highly specialized role that requires in-depth knowledge of agriculture production, climate risks, and farm operations.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and managing agricultural insurance policies. This involves risk assessment, data analysis, and the development of customized insurance solutions tailored to agricultural needs, including crops, livestock, and farm infrastructure.
The key responsibilities include:
- Risk Assessment: Conducting thorough evaluations of agricultural risks associated with insurance applications, including crops, livestock, machinery, and farm infrastructure.
- Policy Development: Designing and recommending suitable coverage levels and policy terms based on risk assessments and market conditions.
- Collaboration: Working closely with clients, agents, and brokers to explain risk management decisions and provide guidance on policy coverage.
- Compliance: Ensuring adherence to local, regional, and national agricultural insurance regulations, as well as company policies.
- Reporting: Preparing detailed reports on risk management activities, including risk assessments, policy performance, and market trends.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for this role, along with familiarity with risk modeling software and geographic information systems (GIS). Professional certification in insurance underwriting is preferred, as well as experience with agriculture insurance policies specific to regional crop and livestock markets.
