Network Infrastructure Specialist


As a Network Infrastructure Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and performance of our network infrastructure. Your expertise will be instrumental in troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues, implementing network changes, and performing routine maintenance and upgrades.


The ideal candidate will possess advanced networking knowledge and experience in a network operations or NOC environment. You will work closely with both junior engineers and senior technical teams to diagnose and resolve network problems, implement network changes, and perform routine maintenance and upgrades.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for complex network issues, including Layer 2/3 protocols, routing, switching, security, and WAN/LAN/WLAN technologies.
  • Handle escalated tickets from L1/L2 engineers and ensure timely resolution.
  • Lead the configuration and deployment of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
  • Ensure all configurations adhere to industry best practices and security policies.
  • Drive incident response during major network outages or service disruptions, coordinating with internal teams and vendors to restore service.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and troubleshooting steps.
  • Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on complex technical issues.
  • Ensure that the network infrastructure is secured and compliant with industry standards and organizational policies.
  • Work with security teams to identify and mitigate network security vulnerabilities.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years in a network operations or NOC role.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certifications required.
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and other networking protocols.
  • Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Knowledge of network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting) is desirable.
