Electrical Design Engineer at a Solar Power Company

 

Job Description:

Develop electrical designs for solar project sites to ensure execution aligns with approved plans and safety standards. Prepare site-specific drawings when needed, ensuring smooth coordination with the head office electrical design team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review electrical drawings from the head office, understanding cable schedules, earthing layouts, lighting, and SCADA systems.
  • Prepare or update site-specific electrical designs/drawings, such as cable routing, earthing design, junction box placement, and panel room layouts.
  • Perform basic electrical design calculations, including cable sizing, voltage drop, and earthing resistance.
  • Evaluate site execution against approved drawings and codes, providing clarifications/modifications as needed.

 

Qualification & Experience/Skills Requirements:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar electrical design tools.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems in solar projects.
  • Knowledge of CEA, IEC, and IS codes applicable to solar plants.
  • Ability to prepare quick and accurate design modifications at site.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.
