Network Detection Specialist Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Network Detection Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have expertise in advanced network security, anomaly detection, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with IDS/IPS technologies, firewall rule tuning, and detection of advanced threats such as brute force, DoS/DDoS attacks, and network anomalies.

We want candidates who:

  • Have 3 years hands-on experience with IDS/IPS, firewalls, and network forensics — not just theoretical knowledge.
  • Can take ownership of NDR strategy and proactively improve client environments.
  • Are detail-oriented investigators, able to dig deep into anomalies, traffic flows, and attack patterns.
  • Bring a problem-solving mindset with the ability to think like both an attacker and defender.
  • Communicate clearly and can translate technical findings into business-relevant insights.
  • Show leadership qualities by mentoring juniors and sharing knowledge with peers.
  • Are continuous learners, staying updated on new threats, tools, and frameworks.
  • Fit into a collaborative, client-focused culture, balancing speed, accuracy, and service quality.

This role involves leading NDR strategy and execution across client environments, configuring and optimizing IDS/IPS rules, performing deep network forensics, and managing and tuning firewall security controls.

The ideal candidate will have certifications such as CCNA Security, CCNP, or CCIE (Preferred), GSEC, and strong knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP protocols. They will also have expertise in IDS/IPS technologies (Suricata, Snort, Zeek) and hands-on firewall security management (Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet, PFsense).

In addition, they should have experience with network forensics and Netflow/Biflow analysis, strong scripting ability (Python, Bash), and working knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework.
