Job Title

Expert Firewall Engineer Role

We are seeking a seasoned expert in network security to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of firewall design, implementation, and management.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Implementation: Develop and deploy comprehensive firewall policies for large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Management and Optimization: Manage and maintain centralized policy management systems for efficient device configuration, reporting, and threat intelligence correlation.
  • GlobalProtect and Endpoint Protection: Implement and manage secure remote access solutions, zero-trust network access (ZTNA), and endpoint protection measures.
  • Layer 7 Security: Configure and enforce advanced security controls, including URL filtering, anti-spyware, application control, content filtering, and SSL/TLS decryption.
  • Monitoring and Analysis: Continuously monitor and analyze firewall policies to improve security posture and reduce false positives.
  • Collaboration and Compliance: Collaborate with incident response teams on threat hunting and integration with cybersecurity tools like Splunk, Sentinel, CrowdStrike, and FireEye. Develop and maintain compliance-aligned security policies.
  • Automation and Streamlining: Participate in automation initiatives to optimize firewall workflows and minimize manual effort.
Requirements

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience with Palo Alto firewalls, including deployment and management of various appliances.
  • Proven expertise in centralized policy management using Palo Alto Panorama.
  • Deep understanding of GlobalProtect architecture and client authentication.
  • Advanced knowledge of Layer 7 security features, including URL filtering and application control.
  • Strong background in network security principles, firewall rule optimization, and threat mitigation.
  • Experience working in 24x7 SOC environments with incident response and compliance reporting.
  • Familiarity with industry-leading cybersecurity tools: Splunk, Sentinel, CrowdStrike, FireEye, ServiceNow, Qualys, Zscaler, and Swimlane.
  • Certifications such as PCNSA, PCNSE, or PCPP are highly preferred.
