Formal Verification Specialist

This role involves utilizing formal verification methodologies to ensure the correctness of complex IP designs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of formal verification principles and tools such as VC-FORMAL/JASPER.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and analyze formal-friendly modules and features across Data Fabric units/subsystems, working closely with stakeholders to understand microarchitectural and high-level specifications.
  • Evaluate cross-feature/cross-unit dependency impacts and create detailed test plans for feature analysis and verification.
  • Develop formal test benches with assertions and assumptions, incorporating necessary abstraction levels to verify complete features.
  • Debug failures to root cause issues, resolve constraints, and collaborate with Synopsys/Cadence engineers to address tool-related challenges.
  • On an as-needed basis, recreate Post-Si bugs and contribute to flow automation initiatives related to formal flows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in formal verification on complex IP designs.
  • Proficiency in overall formal verification methodology and tools like VC-FORMAL/JASPER.
  • Ability to create test plans, build formal test benches from scratch, and develop a deep understanding of computer architecture/microarchitecture and sequential logic/data path.
  • Strong knowledge of Verilog, System Verilog, SVA, and scripting languages such as shell/perl/python.
  • Leadership qualities, including being quick-thinking, proactive, adaptable, outspoken/approachable, and possessing excellent written/oral communication skills.
  • Well-organized, able to multitask, and diligent in closing tasks.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering.
