Job Summary:

An experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist will oversee the timely collection of outstanding debts from customers. They will work closely with internal stakeholders and external agents to develop effective strategies for debt recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement efficient debt collection procedures.
  • Monitor accounts for overdue payments, identifying areas for improvement and determining appropriate actions.
  • Negotiate payment plans with clients, resolving any issues or disputes professionally and ethically.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing and payment-related inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities, including client interactions and payment arrangements.
  • Prepare reports on delinquent accounts and analyze overall collection status.
  • Enforce credit policies and procedures to minimize late payments or non-payment.
  • Work with external agencies as needed to handle complex cases.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Secretary (CS) qualification.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A master's degree may be preferred.
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable management, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly in accounts receivable and collections.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with data assessment and trend analysis to develop effective collection strategies.
  • Familiarity with collection software and tools for managing accounts receivable.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to handle challenging situations professionally and ethically.
