Strategic Bioformulation Leader

Role Overview:

As a Principal Scientist in our BioAgri group, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development of innovative bioformulations. You will spearhead the creation of cutting-edge products focused on improving soil health, plant nutrition, and crop protection.

• Guiding product testing and registration to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Protecting intellectual property by patenting innovations and safeguarding research outcomes
• Identifying and incorporating new technologies to enhance product development and commercialization

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategic Planning

• Developing a strategic vision for the BioAgri group aligned with business objectives and customer needs
• Leading a multidisciplinary team of scientists and researchers to drive innovation and excellence
• Driving the discovery, development, and commercialization of novel products through effective collaboration and communication
• Managing Technical Excellence teams to ensure end-to-end delivery of product pipelines and technical solutions

Research and Development Management

• Overseeing experiments and studies related to the BioAgri segment to advance knowledge and improve product quality
• Managing research projects, timelines, and budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation and successful project outcomes
• Developing novel bioformulations for crop improvement and crop protection through innovative research and experimentation
• Designing and developing BioAgri inputs including biofertilizers, PGPR, biocontrol agents, biostimulants, and other specialized products
• Patent filing, review of research publications, and protection of intellectual property to safeguard company interests

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Collaborating closely with internal departments to foster a culture of teamwork and open communication
• Providing scientific expertise and leadership in product development strategy to inform business decisions
• Fostering collaboration with external stakeholders, including academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners

Regulatory Compliance and Intellectual Property

• Ensuring adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements to maintain compliance and avoid risks
• Developing processes to safeguard intellectual property and protect company assets

Global Representation and Technical Collaborations

• Representing the company at conferences, seminars, and technical forums to promote brand awareness and establish thought leadership
• Establishing and maintaining strategic collaborations with scientific organizations and industry partners to advance research and development
• Acting as a global ambassador by building relationships with key opinion leaders and influencers in the field

Team Development and Talent Management

• Recruiting, training, and mentoring a high-performing team of scientists and researchers to drive innovation and excellence
• Conducting performance evaluations, providing feedback, and implementing talent retention strategies to support team growth and development
• Promoting a culture of scientific excellence and innovation within the organization to foster a competitive edge

Requirements:

• A visionary technical leader passionate about making a positive impact and driving innovation
• Entrepreneurially minded, excited to work in dynamic setups and adapt to changing circumstances
• Ph.D. in Plant Biology, Crop Science, Agricultural Biotechnology, or related fields, with a strong background in bioformulation development
• Minimum 12 years of postdoctoral experience in Agri-biotech companies or biotechnology industries, with a proven track record of success in leading research and development initiatives
• Demonstrated expertise in developing novel bio-based formulations and managing complex research projects
• Strong command of fundamental plant molecular biology techniques and research methodologies
• Proven ability to lead highly skilled teams in fast-paced environments and drive collaborative efforts towards shared goals
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences
