Workday Expense Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Workday expense specialist to join our team. As a key member of our finance operations group, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality support and development for the Workday expense module.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for the Workday expense module, including configuration, integration, data transmission, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure accurate and seamless processing of expense data, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, configure, test, and deploy business processes and solutions that leverage Workday functionality.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, providing subject matter expertise on Workday best practices and ensuring effective communication across teams.
  • Lead workstreams to deliver leading practice-based business processes and solutions, prioritizing requirements and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Understand business requirements and translate them into technical configurations within the Workday ecosystem.
  • Broaden internal knowledge of Workday configuration through hands-on training and provide guidance to cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with HR teams to analyze business needs and develop technical solutions that meet those needs.
  • Optimize business processes by enhancing workflows, automating manual tasks, and providing actionable insights through data reporting and analytics.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of Workday experience with proficiency in Workday HCM and a strong understanding of Workday Expense Configuration, Security Administration, Business Process Configuration, and EIB (Enterprise Integration Builder).
  • Proven functional expertise in the Expense module, with awareness of what Workday can and cannot do, familiarity with delivered functionality and reports, and experience performing administrative tasks in Workday.
  • Ability to customize the Workday Expense and desire to learn about and expand expertise to encompass new areas of Expense Management.
  • Hands-on experience developing and enhancing custom reports and dashboards in SaaS or enterprise systems.
  • Strong analytical, multitasking, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical audiences and business users.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments: ServiceNow, Jira.
