Job Title: Mechanical Millwork Designer

A skilled professional is required to design and develop custom millwork projects.

This role demands a combination of technical expertise, artistic flair, and problem-solving abilities.

The primary responsibility is to review architectural drawings and specifications to understand project requirements.

After understanding the client's needs, the designer uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to create 2D and 3D models, including detailed plans, layouts, and renderings.

Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical Millwork Design: Designing mechanical millwork projects, including casework, cabinetry joinery techniques, and other custom woodwork.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop detailed and accurate mechanical millwork designs.
  • Design Development: Creating 3D models and generating 2D drawings using CAD software, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
  • Site Visits: Conducting site visits to take measurements and gather information needed for design development.
  • Material Selection: Preparing material and hardware selection and producing accurate bills of materials.
  • Optimization: Optimizing designs for functionality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Production Documents: Creating production documents, including shop drawings, fabrication plans, and installation instructions.
  • Design Review: Reviewing and modifying designs based on feedback from team members, clients, and quality control inspections.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborating with the production team to address design-related issues during fabrication and installation.
  • Professional Development: Staying updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and new materials to enhance design capabilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • CAD Expertise: AutoCAD expertise and ability to work on architectural and furniture drawings.
  • Panel Optimization: Hands-on experience in panel optimization and production process management.
  • Furniture Design Software: Strong working knowledge of SAP, ERP tools, and 2020 Design Software for furniture design.
