Structural Draftsman Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Draftsman to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in structural drafting using Revit, AutoCAD, and other Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate structural drawings and 3D BIM models based on engineering markups and design requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, MEP, and other engineering disciplines to ensure model consistency.
  • Produce detailed sections, reinforcement detailing, and shop drawings as required.
  • Maintain BIM models and update them as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Follow industry standards and ensure compliance with local and international codes.
  • Assist in clash detection and coordination using Navisworks or other BIM coordination software.
  • Ensure quality control of drafted output and manage drawing revisions.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and provide input on constructability and detailing issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a structural draftsman, with at least 2 years using BIM/Revit.
  • Proficiency in Revit Structure, AutoCAD, and familiarity with Navisworks.
  • Strong knowledge of structural systems (RC, steel, post-tensioning, etc.) and detailing standards.
  • Experience working on large-scale buildings or infrastructure projects is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
