Job Title: Dam Design Specialist

Job Description:

  • Serves as the nodal expert for all design review matters after DTL and TL.
  • Reviews submitted PSTs, focusing on design aspects and basic layout plans.
  • Assesses and finalizes preliminary designs of rehabilitation works for PSTs before submission to external authorities.
  • Reviews technical bid documents, bills of quantities, and technical specifications for rehabilitation activities.
  • Provides need-based design of major rehabilitation components to support DRIP initiatives.
  • Estimates costs based on item rate analysis or scheduled rates.
  • Offers expert input for physical modeling of significant structural interventions.
  • Participates in CS&QA activities on behalf of CPMU as a third-party representative.
  • Conducts dam safety inspections and manages transmittals.
  • Facilitates capacity building of DRIP teams through customized training programs at various levels.
  • Contributes to the revision of existing guidelines and formulation of new ones.
  • Provides inputs for national databases and MIS systems.
  • Assists in the development of in-house expertise at select academic institutions.
  • Develops training calendars for design activities and customized training programs for annual DRIP schedules.
  • Conducts need-based inspections of DRIP dams.
  • Accompanies central DSRP panels for special safety issues.
  • Supports DRIP-related activities assigned by the Project Director, CWC.
  • Presents technical case studies at international conferences and workshops.
  • Collaborates with CPMU, CWC for joint publication of technical papers.
  • Prepares project reports and contributes to the finalization of CS&QA manuals and plans.
