Process Engineering & Integration Lead - Chemical Engineering & Sustainable Technology Development

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Process Engineering & Integration Lead with a strong background in chemi-mechanical engineering, design, energy integration, and process simulation.

The ideal candidate will drive the scale-up and integration of innovative, environmentally friendly technologies in surface treatments, structures, and coatings.

The role will focus on developing and optimizing sustainable processes, reducing environmental footprints, and delivering scalable, commercially viable solutions with an emphasis on reducing carbon, water, and pollutant emissions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, scale-up, and integration of chemical and process technologies, focusing on surface treatments, structure development, and coating applications.
  • Manage process engineering efforts for scaling up environmentally friendly technologies, ensuring seamless integration into manufacturing environments.
  • Develop and optimize energy-efficient processes, leveraging process simulation tools to model, analyze, and improve system efficiency and sustainability.
  • Implement innovative process designs that reduce carbon footprints, water usage, and pollutant emissions while maintaining high performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive the adoption of environmentally conscious technologies across production, ensuring alignment with company sustainability goals and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and commercial teams to ensure process technologies are scalable, commercially viable, and environmentally sound.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption, waste, and environmental impact throughout the production lifecycle.
  • Oversee process integration for new product lines, ensuring efficient and seamless transitions from pilot to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Manage the lifecycle of process engineering projects from design through to validation, including documentation, testing, and optimization.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and trends in chemical engineering, sustainable processing, and environmental engineering, ensuring the company stays at the forefront of innovation.
Qualifications:
  • PhD in Chemical / Mechanical /Pulp & Paper Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Pulp and Paper Engineering, or a related field with a focus on sustainable technology design and scale-up.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on scaling up technologies and integrating environmentally friendly processes.
  • Proven experience in process simulation, energy integration, and sustainable process design.
  • Expertise in surface treatments, structural development, and coatings, with an ability to scale up from pilot to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Deep understanding of environmentally conscious design principles, with a focus on reducing carbon, water, and pollutant footprints.
  • Strong knowledge of process modelling and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, MATLAB, CAD) for energy optimization and system design.
  • Excellent project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve process engineering and integration goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to innovate and optimize processes for sustainability and efficiency.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in pulp and paper industries, or related sectors with a focus on sustainability.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and sustainability certifications related to carbon emissions, water usage, and environmental impact.
  • Experience with life cycle analysis (LCA) and environmental impact assessments for chemical processes.
