A senior-level UX designer is needed to spearhead the development of finance and enterprise solutions at AWS Fintech.

As a member of an agile team, you will have the opportunity to shape business decisions and leverage the resources of a Fortune-500 company in a startup-like atmosphere.

This role involves defining a north star vision for finance and people management tools, refining recommendations for common UI patterns, and working closely with AWS Design System teams.

You will lead UX design from research and discovery to high-fidelity designs and release, collaborating with Product Managers, Researchers, Engineers, Program Managers, and other stakeholders across the organization.

To be successful, you must be a critical, inventive, and strategic thinker with clear design chops and the ability to communicate your ideas effectively to peers, stakeholders, and executives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Staying ahead of developments in the Fintech and UX design space and using this expertise to inform the north star strategy for products with a path to incremental transition from current state.
  • Partnering with colleagues within and outside the AWS Fintech org to deliver shareable common UI services that can be used across products.
  • Ensuring the highest standards of interface designs and defending them in reviews both internally and externally with stakeholders in product/engineering leadership.
  • Using research practices to frame problems, experiment with multiple concepts, and evaluate how the product meets customer goals (pre/post release) with engagement analytics.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of designers; developing and maintaining personal and team momentum.
  • Earning trust across multiple internal Amazon teams (design, engineering, product) to achieve goals.
  • Helping up-level the team with UX skill trainings, sharing best practices on scaling impact, and hosting team events to build an inclusive culture.
  • Presenting design work to multiple cross-functional teams, managers, and senior leadership for review and feedback.

A day in the life includes managing a team and working closely with leaders and teams across product, engineering, and design, as well as building key partnerships with customers from the AWS finance org and other AWS teams.

About the team:

You will be part of a close-knit, supportive, inclusive, and diverse team of designers, technologists, and product managers. At AWS Fintech, we build and operate systems that provide management and financial reporting for AWS.

The estimated salary for this role is $140,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Basic qualifications include 6+ years of design experience and 3+ years of leading design teams experience. Preferred qualifications include experience working cross-team and synthesizing feedback and input from product management, engineering, testing, and marketing.
