Data Solutions Architect


Job Description:

  • We are seeking an experienced Data Solutions Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and developing scalable data solutions, building robust data models, and enabling analytics through optimized pipelines and reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Databricks.
  • Build and optimize SQL queries with advanced window functions, recursive CTEs, and dynamic SQL.
  • Develop and manage reporting datasets and dashboards in Power BI.
  • Create and manage fact and dimension tables, including handling of SCDs and surrogate keys.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Expert-level SQL with window functions: ROW_NUMBER(), RANK(), LEAD(), LAG(), etc.
  • Proficient in recursive CTEs, dynamic SQL, pivot/unpivot operations, and error handling.
  • Performance tuning experience and strong understanding of execution plans.

Data Modeling:

  • Strong in dimensional modeling (Star/Snowflake), fact/dimension design.
  • Experience with SCD Types 1 & 2, surrogate keys, late-arriving dimensions.
  • Understanding of Kimballs DW lifecycle and best practices.

Power BI:

  • Experience building interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Understanding of DAX and Power BI modeling best practices.
