Senior Manager Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Manager to join our Data Engineering team. This role is based in Hubli, India.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the business and its nuances, including UK specialties.
  • Understand the dynamics of the UK & Global markets and their implications on the business.
  • Optimize digital trading platforms and other systems for business benefits.
  • Gain insight into digital placement data and its interaction with the larger Marsh data ecosystem.
  • Build consolidated views using disparate data sources and placement data, covering coverages, exposures, losses, and trading data.
  • Solve business pain points using data and technology, working closely with business and data leaders.
  • Leverage data and domain expertise to conceptualize and deliver on ambiguous projects with revenue potential.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or an engineering discipline.
  • 10-12 years of experience in Business Intelligence and reporting, including work on enterprise-wide reporting systems and dashboard/report building.
  • 2-3 years of team management experience, handling a minimum team size of 2-3 analysts.
  • Problem-solving within a corporate IT environment.
  • Ability to think independently and define Key Performance Indicators aligning with business strategy and goals.
Technical Skills:
  • Data engineering and transformation skills – SQL or Oracle.
  • Data visualization – Power BI is a must-have, Tableau or Qlik is a good-to-have.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms like Databricks on Azure and AWS.
  • Ability to optimize data pipelines for complex data transformations.
People and Team:
  • Institutionalize business and domain knowledge through knowledge management principles.
  • Coach and mentor the team daily to enhance domain knowledge and business understanding.
  • Build technical capability for self and the team, starting with AWS data bricks and other cloud technologies.
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management are crucial.
  • Ability to communicate complex data in a simple and actionable way.
