Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to drive automation activities, including machine vision and robotics, for key manufacturing processes. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and contract manufacturers to evaluate automation implementation risk, create technical requirements, assess integrator capabilities, provide design for manufacturability (DFM) feedback, support integrator selection, and estimate costs.

  • The ideal candidate will work onsite with integrators to drive design reviews, implement proof of concept, maintain issue lists, implement data logging, review control logic, and define qualification requirements.
  • They will also provide technical support at factory acceptance testing (FAT), development builds, production builds, and production ramp as needed to ensure equipment capability, availability, and productivity.
  • Candidates must be able to coordinate activities with international counterparts to push process capability, ensure timely completion of deliverables, and identify/mitigate risks ahead of schedule.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of professional experience in automation and robotics applications for mass production
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in engineering (mechanical, manufacturing, automation, or equivalent)
  • Expertise in designing, deploying, qualifying, supporting, and project managing automated manufacturing process lines
  • Strong mechanical design, development, and failure analysis skills
  • Ability to reconcile DFM feedback with design goals, anticipate risk, and identify mitigation opportunities
  • Fluent spoken and written English skills
