Job Overview

As a seasoned Data Governance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's approach to data management. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish clear roles and responsibilities for data owners and stewards, ensuring accountability for authoritative data sources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Stewardship:
    • Develop and maintain stewardship programs and councils to ensure data quality, accuracy, lineage, privacy, and compliance.
  • Data Quality Initiatives:
    • Design and implement data quality standards, validation rules, and monitoring processes to improve trust in enterprise data assets.
    • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to remediate data issues.
  • Classification & Protection:
    • Direct the classification of data assets based on sensitivity, regulatory impact, and business value.
    • Partner with Privacy, Security, and Legal teams to ensure appropriate controls are applied to sensitive and regulated data.
  • Governance Policies:
    • Author and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry regulations.
    • Ensure governance practices support audit readiness and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Implementation of Data Governance Systems:
    • Include considerations for metadata management, data lineage, and monitoring tools.
    Requirements
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in related field.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
    • Skills: Proficient in executing against well-defined procedures and processes; ability to create high-quality deliverables with minimal oversight; foundational technical expertise, including both business acumen and strategic thinking.
    • Preferred Qualifications: Some experience in Data Governance, Privacy, Cybersecurity, Risk, Compliance, or IT Audit.
