Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Azure Lead MS-SQL DBA to lead our team in the design, implementation, and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment.

As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications. You will also be responsible for provisioning, configuring, and managing Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and monitor HA/DR strategies such as Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and failover groups to ensure business continuity and data resilience.
  • Plan and execute robust backup and restore operations, validate recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)
  • Monitor database performance using Azure Monitor, SQL Insights, and Query Store. Identify and resolve bottlenecks by optimizing queries, indexes, and resource allocation.

Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience working on Azure MS-SQL database
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL)
  • Experience with SQL server Upgrade and Migration to Azure
  • Experience with large scale complex database architecture with Replications and DR
  • Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization techniques
  • Experience with database security principles and implementation
  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI)
