Job Title: GCP Analyst

Data Engineering Role with Google Cloud Platform Experience Required.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our team as a GCP Analyst. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with the Google Cloud Platform, specifically in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines.

This is a long-term contract position, with immediate availability required. The ideal candidate will be able to work remotely, with US work hours.

The role involves developing, constructing, testing, and maintaining data acquisition pipelines for large volumes of structured and unstructured data, using tools such as Python, Data Flow, DataStream, CDC, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and more.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for building large and complex datasets based on business requirements, constructing 'big data' pipeline architecture, identifying opportunities for data acquisition via working with stakeholders and business clients, and translating business needs to technical requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data engineering principles, including data quality, reliability, and efficiency. They will also be proficient in leveraging DevOps and CI/CD practices, such as GitHub and Terraform, to ensure the reliability and scalability of data pipelines.

We require 5-7 years of experience in a data engineering role, with core GCP experience of 3-4 years. The ideal candidate will be able to work flexible hours, with some occasional overtime required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, test, and maintain data acquisition pipelines for large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
  • Build large and complex datasets based on business requirements.
  • Construct 'big data' pipeline architecture.
  • Identify opportunities for data acquisition via working with stakeholders and business clients.
  • Translate business needs to technical requirements.
  • Leverage various tools in the Google Cloud Ecosystem to integrate systems and data pipelines.
  • Use logs & alerts to effectively monitor pipelines.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a data engineering role.
  • Core GCP experience of 3-4 years.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles, including data quality, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Proficient in leveraging DevOps and CI/CD practices, such as GitHub and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with SAP SLT and JSON messaging structure.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, with some occasional overtime required.
