Job Title: Technical Superintendent

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the technical management and maintenance of assigned vessels ensuring their safe efficient and cost-effective operation.

This position involves close coordination with vessel crews ship owners and relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with international regulations class requirements and industry standards.

  • Technical supervision and guidance for assigned vessels including maintenance repairs and overall performance.
  • Development and implementation of dry-docking major repair and maintenance schedules within established timelines and budgets.
  • Management of operational budgets for vessel maintenance repairs and procurement of spare parts.
  • Ensuring vessels comply with international maritime regulations class requirements and industry policies.
  • Maintaining a strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations promoting a culture of safety within the fleet.
  • Providing technical support and training to shipboard staff on new technologies and regulatory updates.
  • Conducting regular vessel inspections and audits to ensure technical integrity and compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Assisting in the investigation of technical incidents and accidents providing reports and recommendations for prevention.
  • Overseeing the procurement of spare parts lubricants and stores ensuring timely supply and cost-effectiveness.
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or related field.
  • Chief Engineer (COC Class 1) or equivalent seagoing experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in technical management of ships preferably in bulk carriers tankers offshore vessels or container ships.
  • Strong knowledge of ship repair dry docking and maintenance planning.
  • Familiarity with classification societies flag state requirements and international maritime regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving decision-making and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using ship management software and MS Office applications.
