Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Database Performance Specialist to join our team. The primary responsibilities of this role include supporting database operations, including performance monitoring, query optimization, code deployments, access management, and database analysis.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Oracle Exadata and be proficient in creating database objects, investigating performance issues, and monitoring data retention.

They will work closely with data architects, data analysts, and database owners to support both short-term work requests and long-term strategy implementation.

  • Support ongoing efforts and provide technical support for multiple database re-platforming efforts to Exadata.
  • Review and implement data loading scripts related to Golden Gate data replication.
  • Optimize and tune SQL queries and indexes in Oracle.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle 12c/Oracle 19c/Exadata added capabilities and functionality is required.
  • Proficient in programming/development skills using PL/SQL (package, procedures, functions, triggers) is an advantage.
  • Expertise in performance tuning (PL/SQL) using SQL Trace, Explain Plan, Indexing, and Hints is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of database triggers, indexes, and partitioning is necessary.
  • Coordinate with data architects and analysts on the building of schemas, tables, functions, views, stored procedures, and roles.
  • Provide DBA supervision and Oracle best practices guidance for custom application development and routine database administration efforts.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of logical and physical DBA experience, including experience in Oracle Exadata.
  • Extensive working knowledge of all aspects of Database Data Movement and Processing, including Golden Gate and Informatica ETL.
  • Familiarity with agile methodology is desired.
  • Working experience with TOAD or Oracle SQL Developer is an advantage.
  • Good Communication skills and self-motivation are required.
  • Teamwork is essential.
