Cloud Architect Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Development
  • Design and implement secure, scalable infrastructure across public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) and hybrid/on-prem environments.
  • Define architecture blueprints, deployment models, and system interaction patterns.
  • Build production-grade backend services in Go, supporting application logic, data processing, service APIs, and integration workflows.
  • Deliver end-to-end solutions from prototyping to production deployment, including packaging for customer-controlled environments (cloud or on-prem).
  • Integrate and support AI/ML pipelines, streaming systems (Kafka, Kinesis), and data stores (SQL, NoSQL, vector, graph).
  • Deployment & Operations
  • Provision and operate Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads across environments.
  • Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
  • Package and deploy solutions to both cloud and customer-controlled (on-prem/cloud) environments.
  • Instrument systems with observability tooling for logs, metrics, and traces.
  • Integrate and operationalize AI/ML workloads and streaming data systems (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.).
  • Manage and tune database solutions (SQL/NoSQL, vector, graph).
  • Security & Access Control
  • Implement IAM resource-level access controls across infrastructure and application layers.
  • Support secure deployment practices across multiple tenant or customer environments.
  • Team Collaboration
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align infrastructure and application service design.
  • Participate in architecture decisions and help guide technical direction across systems.

Requirements


• Experience

  • 5+ years in cloud infrastructure and backend engineering roles in product-driven environments.
  • Proven ability to design and implement backend services in Go, not limited to infrastructure tooling.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP (multi-cloud preferred).
  • Proven track record with hybrid or distributed cloud deployments, especially packaging systems for customer-prem/cloud delivery.


• Technical Skills

  • Strong Kubernetes expertise.
  • Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC/config management tools.
  • Application development experience in Go (Golang); additional scripting experience (Python, Bash) is a plus.
  • Skilled in scripting (Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Familiar with databases (SQL, NoSQL, vector, graph) and data integration.
  • Experience with AI/ML pipeline integration and streaming systems (Kafka, etc.).


• Nice to Have

  • Experience integrating backend services with AI/ML pipelines or analytics workloads.
  • Familiarity with common enterprise VPN configurations (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.).
  • Exposure to SaaS operations for customers in enterprise, higher-ed, retail, or MSP settings.
