Accountant for Payable and Receivable Management

This is an excellent opportunity to join our finance team as an AR & AP Accountant, supporting our Corporate Finance division.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, the ability to work independently in a dynamic corporate environment, and experience with managing high transaction volumes.

  • Process Invoices: Verify, process, and reconcile vendor invoices in a timely manner.
  • Expense Analysis: Analyze and monitor accounts payable transactions to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, including expense summaries and aging reports.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors, addressing any payment issues or discrepancies promptly.
  • Data Management: Ensure accuracy of financial data by maintaining and updating the accounts payable ledger.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable operations.
  • Compliance: Adhere to financial regulations and standards, including tax compliance for payable transactions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Canadian taxes – HST, PST, PD7A, ROE.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Full-time employees – Federal Tax, Provincial Tax, CPP, EI.
  • Meticulous attention to detail when verifying invoices from vendors/consultants prior to processing payments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing financial transactions and records.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
