About the Role

The Sous Chef - Pastry is a key member of the culinary team, responsible for assisting the Chef de Cuisine in managing the pastry kitchen operation as a successful independent profit center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chef de Cuisine in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the pastry kitchen operation and administration.
  • Ensure maximum guest satisfaction through excellent food quality and presentation.
  • Manage kitchen staff, including training, development, and performance evaluation.
  • Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and occupational health and safety.
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and labor expenses.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as Sous Chef or 4 years as Chef de Partie in a hotel or large restaurant with good standards.
  • Qualification in Kitchen Production or Management is an advantage.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards.
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office and Recipe Maintenance System.
