Senior AWS Redshift Engineer Job

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Redshift Engineer to support our clients in architecting, optimizing, and scaling AWS Redshift environments.

">Job Description
  • Lead architecture review and validation for multiple AWS Redshift clusters.
  • Validate sizing assumptions and provide right-sizing recommendations.
  • Define and implement operational excellence best practices (runbooks, monitoring, alerting).
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and health metrics for Redshift platforms.
  • Analyze and optimize query performance (workload patterns, schema design, tuning).
  • Establish schema governance and define change management/version control processes.
  • Define a clear, auditable process for deploying new tables, columns, and views.
  • Act as a strategic, consultative resource—not just operational support.
  • Collaborate with client teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and efficiency of Redshift environments.
">Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 5+ years in data engineering or database engineering/administration, with deep hands-on expertise in AWS Redshift.
  • Proven experience in cluster architecture review, sizing, and right-sizing recommendations.
  • Strong background in query performance tuning, schema optimization, and workload management.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Redshift fundamentals: table design (Distribution and Sort Keys), WLM tuning, vacuum operations, concurrency scaling.
  • Ability to develop and implement operational best practices (runbooks, monitoring, alerting).
  • Demonstrated expertise in schema governance, version control, and structured change management.
  • Excellent communication and consultative skills—able to clearly articulate solutions to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working in client-facing roles within professional services, consulting, or enterprise environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take ownership of strategic outcomes—not just tactical tasks.
