Job Description

  • As a senior process engineer, you will oversee and guide a team of engineers in the development of process designs, simulations, and calculations. You will be responsible for providing technical direction and expertise in process engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will develop process design basis and philosophies based on project scope.
  • Your experience in executing FEED jobs in petrochemical fields is required.
  • You will review and perform process simulations, guiding junior engineers to develop heat and mass balances as needed.
  • You must have skills in routine process calculations (hydraulics and sizing) and the use of process software and in-house spreadsheets.
  • Experience in process control configurations, ESD systems, equipment design, and facility engineering is essential.
  • Proficiency in designing facilities involving fired heaters, heat exchangers, columns is preferred.
  • You should be familiar with steam balance, compressor hydraulics, and relief valve calculations.
  • You will develop utility balances, UFDs, and summaries for all utilities in a process plant.
  • Knowledge of offsites, including tank farms, boilers, and power generation, is necessary.
  • You must possess knowledge of engineering practices, calculation methods, international standards, codes, specifications, and procedures.
  • You will coordinate with peers and subordinates from other engineering departments.
  • You will identify and mitigate risks related to performance guarantees, vendor packages, and scopes.
  • You will evaluate vendor/consultant/licensor offers for process packages/equipment and specialized process engineering studies.
  • Familiarity with routine safety studies like HAZOP, HAZID, SIL is required.
  • Prior experience with pre-commissioning/commissioning/operations is an advantage.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A bachelor's degree in chemical engineering with 20-25 years of experience is required.
  • Proficiency in process engineering software (HYSYS, Flarenet, Pipenet, Pipesim) is mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, offshore, and utilities/offsites industries is necessary.
