Iron Ore Procurement Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our iron ore procurement operations. The role demands strong industry knowledge, hands-on experience in trading/procurement, and the ability to negotiate and execute high-value contracts while ensuring compliance with all regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Management: Source iron ore (lumps, fines, pellets) from miners, traders, and suppliers.
  • Negotiation Skills: Negotiate pricing, quality, and delivery terms with vendors.
  • Logistics Coordination: Coordinate logistics including rake allotment, port operations, warehousing, and shipping.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Market Analysis: Track global and domestic market trends (Platts, Metal Bulletin, etc.) to support pricing and strategy.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure compliance with MMDR Act, DGFT policies, Goan mining regulations, and other export/import norms.
  • Documentation Handling: Handle documentation including LCs, Bank Guarantees, contracts, and customs paperwork.
  • Reporting: Prepare MIS reports, monitor trade P&L, and provide management with timely updates.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate in any field.
  • Experience: 5–10 years of proven hands-on experience in iron ore trading and procurement.
  • Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of iron ore grades (Fe%), lumps, fines, and pellets.
  • Mining Operations Knowledge: Knowledge of mining operations, beneficiation, and logistics.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of Goan mining regulations and clearances.
