R&D Team Lead Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced R&D Manager who embodies a unique blend of technical expertise and exceptional leadership capabilities. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background as both a Technical Lead and a People Leader/Manager, dedicated to fostering innovation and delivering high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and high performance.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development guidance to R&D staff members.
  • Drive the delivery of high-quality software products, emphasizing continuous innovation, test automation, and performance engineering best practices.
  • Make informed, strategic decisions, navigating ambiguity with confidence and active listening skills.
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams to proactively identify, address, and creatively resolve application issues.
  • Contribute to and review software design and architecture, ensuring scalable, robust, and maintainable solutions that meet business objectives.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years of combined experience in engineering management and team lead roles in enterprise/web applications.
  • 8+ years of hands-on software development experience in enterprise/web applications.
  • 4+ years of direct experience leading software engineering staff members.
  • 3+ years of experience building and leveraging APIs using Microsoft Technologies.
  • Strong expertise in scalable web application development, with a preference for Cloud SaaS application development.
  • Full-stack proficiency, including hands-on experience with frontend (e.g., React/Angular), backend (e.g., .Net, Web API), and data technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Redis).
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD DevOps practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and modern data architectures.
  • Proven software design and architecture experience.
  • Exceptional decision-making capabilities and an ability to thrive in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on proactive problem-solving.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Prior experience working with various programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile project management tools.
