Senior Backend Developer Opportunity

We seek a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to lead the development of our existing backend system. This is a high-impact role that requires technical expertise, leadership, and hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of an existing project with minimal ramp-up time.
  • Lead design and development efforts for new features and systems integrations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including frontend, DevOps, QA, and product.
  • Manage the technical backlog, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Set direction for architecture and backend design with clear vision.

Team Mentorship & Code Quality:

  • Guide junior and mid-level developers, providing code reviews, feedback, and technical leadership.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, design principles, and software engineering best practices.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, clean code, and ownership.

Backend Development & Architecture:

  • Design scalable backend solutions using Node.js, Express.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Work with SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
  • Build RESTful APIs and GraphQL services.
  • Architect monolithic and microservices architectures, with experience in de-coupled design.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization solutions.

Process & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the product team to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years in backend development with Node.js, Express, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Proficient in database design and management.
  • Proven experience with API design, secure authentication systems, and architectural patterns.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience leading and growing engineering teams.
  • Experience with performance tuning, observability, and scalability.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
