About Our Assurance Team

  • We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Auditor to join our assurance team.

Our ideal candidate has 3–6 years of progressive experience in public accounting, with a focus on serving charitable organizations, foundations, and other not-for-profit entities in Canada.

  • The successful candidate will lead and execute audit engagements for not-for-profit clients in accordance with Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) and Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO).
  • They will develop detailed audit plans and execute fieldwork efficiently and effectively.
  • In addition, they will supervise, train, and mentor junior staff; review their work and provide feedback.
  • Key responsibilities include identifying, analyzing, and communicating accounting and auditing issues to clients and partners.
  • The successful candidate will ensure timely completion of audit engagements within budget.
  • They will prepare and review financial statements and related disclosures.
  • Liaising directly with client stakeholders, including finance teams and boards of directors, is also an essential aspect of the role.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of developments in accounting and assurance standards applicable to the not-for-profit sector is crucial.
  • Finally, contributing to continuous improvement of audit methodologies and internal processes is essential.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Progressive experience in public practice, with a strong focus on not-for-profit clients
  • In-depth understanding of ASNPO and CAS
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities
  • Proficient in Caseware, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
