Job Title: Storage and Backup Specialist

The role of a Storage and Backup Specialist is crucial in ensuring the availability, integrity, and recoverability of data across all systems. This position plays a vital part in supporting business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.

This specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise storage and backup solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing enterprise storage and backup solutions using IBM FlashSystem 7300 (FS7300), IBM SVC, and NetApp C Series storage arrays.
  • Configuring, administering, and troubleshooting these environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Implementing and maintaining data replication strategies using IBM replication technologies and NetApp SnapMirror replication.
  • Designing, implementing, and managing Veritas NetBackup 11 solutions, including NetBackup FlexScale and NetBackup Flex Appliances.
  • Configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting Brocade SAN switches and Inter-Switch Links (ISL) to ensure high-speed data transfer and minimal downtime.

Key skills required for this position include:

  • Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Storage Administrator.
  • Strong expertise in IBM Storage: IBM FlashSystem 7300 (FS7300) and IBM SVC.
  • Strong expertise in NetApp Storage: NetApp C Series and SnapMirror replication.
  • Strong expertise in Veritas NetBackup 11: Including NetBackup FlexScale and NetBackup Flex Appliances.
  • Proven experience with Brocade SAN switches and ISL configuration.
  • Solid understanding of Fibre Channel protocols, zoning, and multipathing.
  • Experience with performance analysis and tuning of storage systems.
