Cloud Platform Engineering Lead

This role focuses on shaping the future of REA's cutting-edge products by leading the design, development, and optimization of our Kubernetes-based IDP.

As a Cloud Platform Engineering Lead, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the globe to create scalable, secure, and dynamic platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Enabling teams to transition their applications to Kubernetes by architecting an automated migration pipeline.
  • Developing automation for Kubernetes cluster lifecycle management, including zero-downtime upgrades and scaling operations.
  • Defining and tracking Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for critical platform components and implementing strategies to meet them.
  • Collaborating with development teams to build platform capabilities.
  • Conducting capacity planning and performance testing to ensure platform scalability.
  • Participating in code reviews, unit testing, and secure deployments to deliver high-quality code.
  • Staying updated on the latest Kubernetes and platform engineering trends and applying them to solve complex challenges.

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS / GCP / Azure).
  • Experience writing developer tooling in a general-purpose programming language such as Go or Python, with a focus on Kubernetes, migration automation, and improving developer user experience.
  • Extensive experience in managing and deploying workloads on production-grade Kubernetes clusters.
  • Knowledge of Argo CD and GitOps methodologies to automate continuous delivery of applications deployed in Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tools like Cilium, Kyverno, and Keda to build robust, scalable, and secure platforms.
  • Experience with monitoring and incident management tools.
