HPC Cluster Administrator

Seeking a highly skilled HPC Cluster Administrator to oversee the administration of our High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) clusters.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Administration of HPC and VDI clusters, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
    • User account management for HPC onboarding and offboarding, guaranteeing secure access and authorization.
    • Creation and maintenance of AMI images in designated accounts, facilitating smooth deployment and updates.
    • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux operating systems on HPC clusters, ensuring compatibility and reliability.
    • Support for HPC necessary components and native services, coordinating with relevant providers to address technical challenges.
    • AWS Managed Active Directory support and management, ensuring seamless integration and security.
    • Continuous upgrades to the HPC platform and related components, maintaining cutting-edge technology and expertise.
    • Implementation and maintenance of necessary compliance controls, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
    • Collaboration with other teams in testing and migrating/installing engineering applications, driving innovation and improvement.
    • Management of job schedulers such as Slurm or LSF, optimizing resource allocation and utilization.
    • Troubleshooting system issues and providing technical support to users, delivering exceptional service and expertise.
    • Monitoring system performance and ensuring optimal operation of the HPC environment, identifying areas for improvement.
    Requirements:
    • Progressive experience in HPC system administration, preferably in a Redhat/CentOS Linux environment.
    • Proficiency in AWS Cloud formation templates to build infrastructure for HPC and storage Amazon FSx for Netapp and Lustre.
